PARILYA 5TH ANNIVERSARY

Parilya, the seaside restaurant that first opened in 2015, marked its 5th year of serving Cebuano fare and hospitality last February 8, 2020. 

Last February 8, 2020, we dedicated our special night to our loyal patrons and diners with the theme: PARILYA 5INGKO SING-ALONG or Parilya 5th Anniversary with a BBQ dinner buffet. However, it wasn’t just a night to celebrate our milestone but was also a gift to express our gratitude to our customers who have always supported us.

BBQ DINNER BUFFET

Our dinner buffet featured some of the timeless Cebuano favorites that kept diners coming back for more.
Along with our pata humba, fish kinilaw and fresh lumpia, we also offered our flavorful and  tender pork and chicken BBQ along with shrimps that were prepared and grilled to perfection.
Our desserts were also a hit, with both warm and cold selections that served as sweet endings to a hearty meal. Staples like Biko were topped with fresh mangoes owing to our Cebuano heritage. Traditional mango and ube sorbetes were also part of the lineup.
Back for another year were Wyng Diva and Enerva, two of Cebu’s renowned comedians who served as hosts for our sing-along night. Parilya 5th Anniversary was filled with their soulful renditions and punch lines kept our guests entertained all through the night. 
Guests were also invited to sing in front of the crowd, with gift certificates up for grabs. Suffice to say, their voices definitely hit the right notes as no rain drops were felt the entire night. Kidding aside, not only were our brave singers and guests bopping along to their go-to karaoke songs, but the audience was singing in their seats as well. 

HOW IT STARTED

In 2015, along with the proven quality of food and service that the Laguna Group chain of restaurants are known for, Parilya 5th Anniversary was a different kind of mix.
At its inception, the group wanted to create a concept that served as a tribute to Cebu for the years of patronage their other brands, Cafe Laguna and Lemon Grass, have enjoyed in the Queen City of the South. 
Through the years, Parilya has grown from our beginnings as the lone locator of Il Corso Mall where we initially struggled with customer traffic. Thanks to a few following that has now grown steadily since then, we have become a proud Cebuano dining destination and gateway to the south. 
With their support, this 2020 and beyond, we continue our mission to serve the best Filipino-Cebuano flavors and cuisines to both local and foreign diners.
Central to Parilya’s success as a dining destination is its seaside view. During the day,  the Mactan Channel serves as a stunning masterpiece of pristine waters and blue skies. 
At night, the moon (especially when it’s Full) acts like a celestial spotlight that reflects off the seawater and illuminates the dark horizon. This sets a romantic and calm mood to match an exciting dinner with friends and loved ones.

New Interiors

As much as we serve the freshest food, we also like to refresh our interiors after five years of operations. 
Designed by Architect Albert Garbanzos, President of ABG & Associates, our revamped interiors served as a fitting highlight of the night along with our buffet.
The new interiors stayed true to the white and turquoise hues that we have been known for but new elements were added from the intricate wall woodworks that represent the stems of the leaves and the wave-like canopies that adorn the our indoor dining area.
The atmosphere is definitely more cozy, with glass walls and mirrors that fill the interior with the right amount of sunlight. 
And if you are dining outdoors, the cool sea breeze will put you in the right mood to relish the soothing dining experience.
Thank you for being a part of our 5th Anniversary celebration. It was a special night filled with fun and smiles as we were surrounded by supportive friends and valued customers. We hope you enjoyed our delicious buffet spread and had a fun time singing along with our hosts of the evening. We hope to see you all again next year!
